All you need is love. And chocolate!

Or better yet, a chocolate mixed with a citrus-y twist!

I don’t know about you, but I LOVE munching on a piece of chocolate in the afternoon to curb the 4 o’clock slump/sweet cravings/hangries.

Great news if you do love chocolate as much as I do because dark chocolate can have some great benefits besides sprucing up the ol’ cheese platter. Here are three great reasons that dark chocolate is good for you:

  1. Good for Your Heart
One of the most important health benefits of dark chocolate is that it can actually help prevent cardiovascular disease. Dark chocolate contains flavonoids, which have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Flavonoids are known to significantly lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Impressive huh!
  2. Helps Improve Your Mood
Dark chocolate contains serotonin, a neurotransmitter produced by your nerves. Also known as the ‘happy’ neurotransmitter. It has several; functions in the body, including influencing your mood and promoting happiness and relaxation.

  3. Helps Improve Brain Function
Dark chocolate that’s high in cocoa increases blood flow to certain parts of the brain, which has a positive effect on alertness and performance which can last up to several hours after eating.

There you have it, chocolate is healthy but as with anything moderation is key!

And oh yeah, by the way, our choc oranges are full of vitamin C, and antioxidants which makes them A-OK in my book!
